O’Briens Sandwich Bars Castlebar, are
hosting a coffee morning on Friday 8th December to raise funds
for the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation, a children’s
charity based in Vietnam and Mongolia, established by a wonderful
Irish visionary, Christina Noble in 1991.
All proceeds from the sale of tea and coffee on Friday 8th
December between the times of 10am and 12noon and 2.30pm and
4.30pm will go directly to the charity.
Customers are invited
to pop in for a well deserved break on the nation’s traditional shopping day, 8th December,
to enjoy an O’Briens gourmet coffee and organic fair-trade
teas, knowing that they are making a contribution to improving
the lives of hundreds of young people in Vietnam and Mongolia.
"The CNCF is a unique organisation, established by a
remarkable Irish lady, Christina Noble. Mama Tina, as she is
called by the children of Vietnam and Mongolia, has made her
dream to give back dignity to more than 160,000 of these special
children and their families a reality. It is our privilege
to support the foundations aims to provide possibilities for
young people for the future", stated Laura Hill, Franchise
Partner, O’Briens Castlebar.
“We would like to invite all our customers to join us
in giving something back this Christmas to our young friends
in Vietnam and Mongolia by enjoying an O’Briens gourmet
coffee and tea in our store” added Laura.
“Our funding goes directly to specific projects run
by the charity, which include a boy’s residential shelter,
a girl’s residential shelter, the construction of 16
Gers/homes, the Sunshine Sports programme, and the post of
International Co-coordinator. Your help can make such a difference
to the lives of these young people”, added Laura.
In Vietnam, O’Briens
sponsorship ensures the foundation continues to offer a home,
free education, food and medical
monitoring for over 50 children from the age of 5 to 15 in
The Girls Residential Shelter and The Boys Residential Shelter.
300 Children are educated at Primary level in the O'Briens
sponsored Sunshine School, and another 100 + Children attend
the Sunshine Sports programme, playing Soccer and Tennis three
times a week. In Mongolia O'Briens meet the full cost of running
the residential Sunshine Ger Village where up to 50 Children
are provided with a loving, safe and healthy environment in
which to blossom, under the care of 17 full time staff.
