Christina
Noble is coming to the west of Ireland this Saturday (17
June) to thank the people of Longford and
Sligo for their kind support over the years of her charity,
the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF). She
will be heading off with the hardy 150-plus group who are taking
part in the annual O’Briens Sandwich Bars 200km fundraising
cycle from Dublin and shorter journey from Longford to destination
Sligo town, all in aid of CNCF.
Stage one of the
cycle commences in Dublin with the majority of less experienced
cyclists starting the race from St Mel’s
Cathedral Longford at 11am, to complete the second leg of the
cycle to Sligo Park Hotel. The O’Briens event aims to
raise funds to build 16 gers - Mongolian houses - and finance
a girls and a boys shelter in Vietnam for the coming year.
Christina is participating
in the event alongside Brody Sweeney, Chairman of O’Briens,
the Premier Worldwide Sponsor of CNCF. They will be joined
by more than 150 O'Briens support
staff, franchise partners, store staff, suppliers, families
and friends, who have traveled from all over the UK and Ireland
to take part and help raise sponsorship on behalf of CNCF.
“The people
of Ireland, and especially the people of Longford and Sligo,
offer the Foundation continuous support.
It is only through individual donations and corporate sponsorship
that we can continue to make a difference to hundreds of thousands
of children in Vietnam and Mongolia every year. I would like
to thank the people of Longford for their unfailing support
and I look forward to meeting them on Saturday.”
Commenting on the
event, Brody said: “Over 150 cyclists
are preparing for the cycle of their life. The Christina Noble
Children’s Foundation has touched the lives of over 180,000
children in Vietnam and Mongolia and this is our chance to
give something back by participating in the event. Please come
along and support us as we cycle from Dublin and Longford to
Sligo.”
