O’Briens
Irish Sandwich Bars, Ireland’s fastest growing franchise
chain, are delighted to announce Bob Morrison, from Mullingar,
Co. Westmeath, as one of the winners of this, their seventh
annual Photographer of the Year Competition, entitled “The
Rhythm of Life”, in association with the Irish Independent
and Fuji Film Ireland.
The six
winning photographs are being transformed into postcards
and distributed
in O’Briens stores throughout the globe.
Bob, an
amateur photographer is thrilled to win the award, “This
is a fantastic opportunity to showcase my work. There aren’t
many people who will print, publish and distribute an image
to the scale that O’Briens does for free. It’s
recognition you don’t normally get”.
Bob’s winning photograph is a very popular choice amongst
the judges, as he captured “The Rhythm of Life” through
the medium of black and white. Bob previously won the 2003
Photographer of the Year Capturing “That Food Sensation”.
“Bob is truly a talented photographer, and we look forward
to showcasing his work in our store. His award winning photograph
will be available in-store from June 2005 as a postcard for
you to take home”, explains David Horkan, Franchisee
O’Briens Mullingar.
This is
the seventh year the competition included all O’Briens
International territories and entries were received from the
UK, Ireland, the USA, Singapore, Malyasia and Australia. Following
the extensive search to find the Photographer of the Year,
O’Briens received an outstanding amount of entries for
the competition. The main sponsor O’Briens Sandwich Bars,
Irish Independent and co-sponsor Fuji Photofilm Ireland, selected
Bob as one of the winners.
Each winner
receives €500 worth of Fuji camera equipment
as well as their photographs being replicated as free postcards
in all O’Briens stores worldwide.
